PENTA Ge.Co. Construction is participating in the Circ-Boost project, a four-year initiative funded through the Horizon Europe program. The project focuses on testing and increasing the use of circular solutions in the construction sector through five pilot projects to be implemented in various European regions.
The pilot projects will demonstrate new and integrated solutions for disassembly, processing of construction waste, management, and valorization into new products.
The Serbian pilot project, in which PENTA Ge.Co. Construction is involved, aims to use recycled materials instead of natural resources and to reuse structural elements. Through the planned pilot house, the possibility of assembly and disassembly of all house elements and their reuse will be demonstrated. For this purpose, concretes with the addition of fly ash instead of cement, recycled aggregate obtained from concrete recycling, recycled rubber for connections of construction and wall fillings, and partition walls will be used. The connection made of recycled rubber enables the use of old bricks that can be reused for fillings and partition walls, regardless of the quality of the old brick, making these walls resistant to earthquake effects.
This project is coordinated by representatives of the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade - Ivan Ignjatović, Jelena Dragaš, and Marko Marinković, and from our side, colleagues Mihajlo Ristić and Ljubiša Stošić.
