The foundation stone has been laid for a new factory in Hungary

Foundation Stone Laid for the Prefabricated Concrete Elements Factory in Hungary

In Dunavecse, Bács-Kiskun County, the foundation stone was ceremonially laid for the construction of the new MZ Precast Kft. factory — a joint venture between Merkbau Zrt. from Hungary and KMZ Group from Serbia.

This investment represents an important step in strengthening economic cooperation between Hungary and Serbia and marks a new chapter in the regional expansion of business operations.

Ceremonial Event Attended by Officials and Partners

The ceremony was attended by numerous guests, including:

  • Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary

  • Font Sándor, Member of the Hungarian Parliament

  • József Knáb, Chairman of the Board, Merkbau Zrt.

  • Antonio Zanetti, Owner, KMZ Group

  • as well as representatives of local authorities, project partners, and collaborators.

In a festive atmosphere, attendees highlighted the importance of joint investments that contribute to industrial development and the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Project Details

The new factory will be located in the Dunavecse industrial zone and will focus on the production of prefabricated concrete elements for the construction sector.

  • Investment value: approximately €24 million

  • Initial annual capacity: 25,000 m³, with plans to expand up to 50,000 m³

  • New jobs created: 65 in the first phase

  • Energy efficiency: the factory will use solar power and heat pumps, with no use of natural gas, in line with the principles of sustainable development

The project is supported by the Government of Hungary and the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA).

This investment brings new employment opportunities, contributes to local economic development, and strengthens the region’s industrial infrastructure.
In addition, the project opens up new opportunities for cooperation between Hungarian and Serbian companies in the fields of construction and concrete production.
